"We have only been using the RedTie system for a few weeks but already are seeing the benefits of a web to print workflow. I had been aware of several server based applications claiming to do web to print, although when I looked into it, all they really provided was a basic templating tool, and even then, it was often one that didn’t have a graphical interface for the design element. RedTie’s software was the first solution I saw that I thought had been designed by printers, and not by a software company.

As a digital department within a larger litho establishment, we were finding that we were spending a disproportionate amount of time administering the small jobs that went through digital, leaving less time to focus on the bigger customers, and pushing our admin costs up beyond what was competitive for short run work. RTT is software of such power and scale that it will be some time before we are able to use it to its full potential. More than anything else we are expecting RTT to make us a lot of money, as the margins on simple gift products sold to the general public are an order of magnitude greater than what would consider for general commercial work.

With the simple purchase of two pieces of software we have elevated ourselves to the status of one of the most technologically advanced digital printers in the country. The support from RedTie is excellent, and the staff are highly knowledgeable in both digital printing and IT. I cannot imagine how we would even begin to build a system of this complexity for ourselves, although I am convinced it would cost considerably more and take many months, if not years.

RedTie software has given our digital department a new focus - we can concentrate on simply printing and finishing for our trade customers, and we can make good money on selling to the general public in the local area."
